The Lodge of Scoon and Perth is not alone in its claim to antiquity amongst the Masonic Lodges of Scotland, but that claim can probably be maintained with greater certainty than that of others.

Such is a brief account of the history of our Lodge of Scoon and Perth, No. It is a story bound up with the history of our native land, which speaks of faith and faithfulness in every age, and of those virtues which our Masonic Craft sets forth.

A discourse on Masonic history, in the context of this book, must be brief, even though the subject itself is vast, as testified by the huge number of books and publications which have been dedicated to its study. That which follows here, therefore, can only be a Spartan and unelaborated attempt on the subject.
