The best book to learn quantum field theory is the book “ Quantum field theory for the gifted amateur “, by Lancaster and Blundell. String theory is a theoretical framework that attempts to reconcile gravity and quantum mechanics. In string theory, the point-like particles of particle physics are replaced by one-dimensional objects called strings. String theory describes how strings propagate through space and interact with each other.

String Vacua: "Quantum Field Theory: A Modern Introduction International Student Edition" by Michio Kaku Quantum field theory has emerged as the most successful physical framework describing the subatomic world. Both its computational power and its conceptual scope are remarkable/5. At its core, string theory uses a model of one-dimensional strings in place of the particles of quantum physics. These strings, the size of the Planck length ( m), vibrate at specific resonant frequencies. Some recent versions of string theory have predicted that the strings could have a longer length, up to nearly a millimeter in size, which would mean they're in the realm that.

Loop quantum gravity is string theory’s biggest competitor. It gets less press than string theory, in part because it has a fundamentally more limited goal: a quantum theory of gravity. Loop quantum gravity performs this feat by trying to quantize space itself — in other words, treat space like it . String theory, often called the “theory of everything,” is a relatively young science that includes such unusual concepts as superstrings, branes, and extra dimensions. Scientists are hopeful that string theory will unlock one of the biggest mysteries of the universe, namely how gravity and quantum .

Probably the best book of its kind at the time it was written, The Elegant Universe gives an up-to-date (in or thereabouts) appraisal of String Theory, by way of relativity and Quantum by: Here is a book with a dual personality: quantum field theory of point particles coupled to introduction to Bosonic string theory.

The material is not evenly parsed, as string theory begins in Cited by: "The Little Book of String Theory by theoretical physicist Steven Gubser puts into words the abstract maths of some of the most challenging areas of physics, from energy and quantum mechanics to branes, supersymmetry and multiple dimensions.", NatureCited by: Lastly, we’ve got the Lectures on String Theory by D Lust and S Theisen.

This is the book by Dieter Lust and Stefan Theisen, which I included partly for sentimental reasons because it is, in fact, the book from which I learned string theory. But it’s also a great book. The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene is a general introduction to cosmology and string theory.

It is a beautifully written book. However, it is not for beginners/5. "Kaku’s book, at pages, is a comprehensive, self-contained text on string theory [It] contains useful summaries of mathematical topics such as index theory, cohomology, and Kahler manifolds.

This is a book for the really serious student of string theory; the dedicated reader who emerges after page will be well versed in this fascinating area of theoretical physics.”Cited by: String Theory states that our universe is made up of tiny little string particles and Quantum string theory book.

These strings are the building blocks of the universe we experience and make up the multiverse and the 11 dimensions that exist in the multiverse. Quantum Entanglement’s Spooky Actions. By Andrew Zimmerman Jones, Daniel Robbins One hope scientists have is that string theory will explain some of the unusual results in quantum physics.

of Amsterdam. We have also drawn on some ideas from the books String Theory and M-Theory (Becker, Becker and Schwarz), Introduction to String Theory (Polchinski), String Theory in a Nutshell (McMahon) and Superstring Theory (Green, Schwarz and Witten), along with the lecture notes of David Tong, sometimes word-for-word.

Here are some books I have read and loved: The Elegant Universe, by Brian Greene gives a fantastic description of string theory and explains concepts clearly. - The Particle at the End of the Universe, by Sean Carrol explains the Higgs Boson, a particle that arises from the Higgs field.

theory. Reason 1. String theory is a theory of quantum gravity String theory unifies Einstein’s theory of general relativity with quantum mechanics. Moreover, it does so in amanner that retains the explicit connection with both quantum theory and the low-energy description of Size: 1MB.

The solution to the problem of the double slit experiment, a concept at the heart of string theory’s origins and a direct consequence of this early work in quantum physics. The Little Book of String Theory offers a short, accessible, and entertaining introduction to one of the most talked-about areas of physics today.

String theory has been called the “theory of everything.” It seeks to describe all the fundamental forces of nature. It encompasses gravity and quantum mechanics in one unifying theory. Quantum Space is an overview of Loop Quantum Gravity (LQG), which is the main contender to String Theory for a quantum theory of gravity.

As with most of these books you get a brief recap/ on general relativity, quantum mechanics, quantum field theory and other relevant areas of physics/5. Brian Randolph Greene (born February 9, ) is an American theoretical physicist, mathematician, and string has been a professor at Columbia University since and chairman of the World Science Festival since co-founding it in Greene has worked on mirror symmetry, relating two different Calabi–Yau manifolds (concretely, relating the conifold to one of its orbifolds).Doctoral advisor: Graham G.

Ross, James Binney. String theory is the hottest topic in physics right now, with books on the subject (pro and con) flying out of the stores. String Theory For Dummies offers an accessible introduction to this highly mathematical "theory of everything," which posits ten or more dimensions in an attempt to explain the basic nature of matter and energy.

Written for both students and people interested in science, this guide explains Cited by: 9. Open the book and find: • The questions string theory attempts to answer • Easy-to-follow examples • Explanations of Einstein’s theory of relativity, quantum theory, and particle physics • The successes and failures of string theory • F ascinating bits of string theory including strings and branes • Ways that string theory can be.

This book takes a pedagogical approach to explaining quantum gravity, supersymmetry and string theory in a coherent way. It is aimed at graduate students and researchers in quantum field theory and high-energy physics.

The first part of the book introduces quantum gravity, without requiring previous knowledge of general relativity (GR). Download PDF Quantum Electrodynamics book full free. Quantum Electrodynamics available for download and read online in other formats.

As string theory’s popularity is being brought into question. Idea. String theory is a theory in fundamental nly it is, mathematically, a structure that contains in various limits a plethora of quantum field interest for experimental high energy physics lies in the hypothesis that it provides a theory of everything in the sense of fundamental physics, but the jury on that is still out.
